Rashi here is the Moon sign. It is not the Sun sign. The pada of the birth nakshatra decides it. Each sign has a ruling planet, used later when a family asks for Kundli Milan. The syllables under a sign are the starting sounds of the padas that fall inside it. Read them as a map, then open a name to see the meaning.

- Is rashi the Moon sign?
- On this site, rashi means the Moon's sign, not the Sun sign used in Western horoscopes. It comes from the nakshatra pada.
- Why do some signs open the finder?
- A sign gets its own page when enough names sit in it. A shorter list stays in the finder so the page is not a thin copy.
- Where is the lord used?
- The lord is the planet traditionally tied to that sign. Kundli Milan uses it for Graha Maitri. It is not a promise about the child.
