Mythological twin names

Story pairs such as Lav and Kush, or Krishna and Balram, when both names are in the directory.

These are pairs families already know from a story: brothers, sisters, or two names that are said together. A pair is listed only when both names are in the directory with a reviewed meaning. If one name is missing, the pair is left off. The list is short on purpose. It is not a retelling of the story, and it does not add names that are not on the site.

Lav and Kush, Ram and Lakshman, Krishna and Balram, Sita and Lakshmi: each of those appears only if both pages exist today. Open them. The meaning on the page is the short one we publish, not a full telling. Use it to see whether the name still feels right once you are choosing it for a child rather than recalling a story.

A story pair can still fail a number check once a surname is added. The twins report does that check for both children, and it reads both birth times so you can see whether the Moons match. This page does not. It is the list of pairs you can already point to. Say them with the surname, and keep the one both of you are happy to use every day.
